A lightweight construction consisting of a metal frame system was used throughout which meant the existing foundations could withstand the additional floors. A new biomass boiler will be installed at ground floor level to heat the new floors helping to achieve a very good BREEAM rating.
The new building accommodates two general practitioner practices with administration offices on the new fourth floor. A new side extension containing the lift and stairs connects to the refurbished second floor, the new third and fourth floors.
On the second floor there is a fully equipped dental suite, a reception with associated waiting area, 6 GP consulting rooms, 3 treatment rooms and 3 administration areas. On the third floor there is a reception and waiting area with 9 GP consulting rooms and 2 treatment rooms.
