The Arc Veterinary Centre

Tuke Manton Architects were commissioned by Richard Harper, the founder of the Arc Veterinary Centre to help realise the new business. The Arc Veterinary Centre is a start up business providing health care for domestic animals in a modern veterinary centre for the local community.
Wentworth ICT Suite

The new ICT Suite extension to Wentworth Primary School is now complete and ready for the children to start using it. Tuke Manton Architects were commissioned by Wentworth Primary School to develop the new ICT suite following the successful completion of the new conference suite in 2007.
Gonville and Caius College Boat House

Tuke Manton Architects were pleased to reach the last four in a design competition for the new boathouse for Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. The site is located on the River Cam on the outskirts of Cambridge and is part of a line of boathouses adjacent to the river.
Mint House

Mint House occupies a central location in the town of Wallington in Surrey. The new building accommodates two general practitioner practices with administration offices on the new fourth floor.
World Trade Organisation

The building takes its inspiration from its context, its location within the classic English Garden created by Sir Robert Peel in the middle of the 19th Century. The project is conceived as a raised garden with a floating glass pavilion where people can work amidst the great tree canopies.
Somerfield Hospital

The Somerfield Hospital is a 48-bedded private hospital on London Road, Maidstone. Following a series of feasibility studies for major redevelopment of the hospital the client revised the brief requirements and a reduced scheme was agreed for the installation of a new modular theatre and the refurbishment of the existing theatre department.
The Friesian Building

The proposals were to refurbish an existing industrial shed into a new specialist veterinary unit, linked to an adjacent office building. The surgery required a large reception area and a front entrance which, like a hospital, is calming for its anxious visitors.
Princess Margaret Hospital

The Princess Margaret Hospital is an established 80-bedded private hospital on Osborne Road, Windsor. With three existing operating theatres in a department hedged in by surrounding departments and a mobile theatre parked temporarily in the car park the hospital desperately required a new permanent operating theatre.

The original building, a block of terraced Victorian houses was demolished approximately 30 years ago. The listed façade was retained and a new floor was added. Tuke Manton were commissioned to carry out the original additions and alterations.

The proposal for supported housing in Chippenham is nearing completion. The proposed new building is a mix of two and three storey elements reflecting the functions within each of the wings.
Bromley Road

The ARP Centre is a hostel in Catford, South London which provides intermediate support to recovering alcoholics. The original building, a typical example of a Victorian villa, has been converted and extended into a 10 bedroom split level facility.
Lambeth Road

The proposal was to revise the catering provision and layout for the 5th floor to enhance the catering experience for the staff and members of the Society and in turn create a venue and dining experience capable of attracting external users.
Mabley Court

Tuke Manton were commissioned to remodel the flats at Mabley Court into a development of six dwellings in Bracknell providing self-contained accommodation for young people between 16 and 24 with low support needs.
The Cube

The design for the Cube had received planning permission when we were appointed as the Architect for E R Armfield, the design and build contractor. We were responsible for the production of construction drawings and obtaining Building Control approval.
Wentworth Primary School

The extension to Wentworth primary school is now completed. Our brief was to create an extension to form a new conference room and an office suite. The complex is designed to be let out for community use outside school hours.

The practice has completed a project to refurbish and improve the security of the Lakeside medium-secure Mental Health Unit reception facility.

Part of St Bernard’s Hospital in Ealing, The Orchard is a medium and enhanced/medium secure unit that can house 60 women.
Chatham Street

This new building was to be constructed on a prominent ‘gateway’ site in Reading, on a major artery which enters the city from the west. It comprised 41 units: 21 one-bedroom, 9 two-bedroom and 1 three-bedroom.
Oak Trees School

We were first commissioned to locate a new library and ITC suite within a small enclosed space bounded on three sides by school buildings. Following the successful completion of the Library we were asked to enter a limited design competition to extend the existing classrooms and bring them up to current standards. Our feasibility study was the preferred option and the scheme was developed and submitted for planning permission
Oxford University Boat House

The building provides a home for the main university rowing squads, male and female, heavyweight and lightweight, as well as secure storage for their equipment. It comprises two major elements, a ‘dry’ boathouse for the storage and maintenance of racing shells and oars, and a ‘wet’ boathouse for coaching launches.
University College Oxford Boat House & Graduate Accommodation

The site of the proposed new building for University College is that previously occupied by the building constructed by the Oxford University Boat club in the 1860’s on University College land.

Built in the 1970s, The Salvation Army Centre in Bristol no longer met the needs of homeless people in the area who rely on its support. Tuke Manton was commissioned to undertake extensive remodelling of the existing centre as well as the development of a new extension.
Loughborough Community Centre

The Loughborough Community Centre is a 2-4 storey development in the centre of Brixton. An area with a history of crime and drugs, the locality has been improving rapidly with community initiatives and regeneration projects.
Winchester House Medical Centre

Winchester House was constructed in 1857 as a school for the sons and orphans of missionaries. It was acquired by BMI Healthcare in 2001 to create a free-standing medical centre and annex to Blackheath Hospital.
The Clementine Churchill Hospital

This flagship BMI Healthcare hospital is situated at Sudbury Hill, Harrow. Tuke Manton was commissioned to provide an extension that would enlarge the hospital by approximately 50%.
Rainforest Walk

Tuke Manton was commissioned to undertake the design and development of 20 studio apartments. These house vulnerable young people temporarily, providing them with structured support and enabling them to develop the life skills and confidence to move on to permanent accommodation.
Monkton Primary School

Monkton Primary occupies an original Victorian school building which was in need of modernisation. Tuke Manton participated in a design competition, which was initiated by Kent County Council and put out to various architectural practices.
The Hampshire Clinic

The Hampshire Clinic is a private hospital situated on the outskirts of Basingstoke, where Tuke Manton was commissioned to undertake a 1600 sq m enlargement.
Integrated Care Unit
Boughton
The brief was for a ‘state of the art’ facility providing integrated care to 75 residents. Residents’ rooms are designed for two alternative bed positions, with en-suite facilities suitable for wheelchair use, provided in groups of 15 laid out to maintain a domestic-scale environment.
Royal Hospital
Chelsea
The Royal Hospital Chelsea was founded in 1692 as a retirement home for former soldiers, more commonly known as ‘Chelsea Pensioners’. A residential home rather than a hospital, Wren’s long wards provide sheltered accommodation for those who are able to look after themselves.
Watermen’s Hall
City of London
Watermen’s Hall is one of the very few surviving examples of a City company hall actually built in the Georgian period. Most of the other Georgian company halls were rebuilt during the nineteenth century, or after bomb damage in the Second World War.
